Beyond the Clock: Reclaiming Connection in a World of Deadlines
Maybe here’s another I-spy for us. Who does this? Within or outside?
Have you noticed how so many of our meaningful conversations are in o’clock language?
When asked connection-seeking questions about our lives – how was your day? how are things going? you sound exhausted; what’s going on? And instead of sharing our feelings and needs….
We answer in o’clock. We share flowing details of our calendars, clocks, and deadlines. Likely without our notice, we identify more as human doings, not human beings.
#burnout isn’t just from “doing too much.” It also happens when time becomes – our identity, instead of our resource. It happens when we forget our human front and instead relate with our clocks and calendars at the forefront.
In a world of back-to-back meetings and rushed check-ins, We, Humans offers something rare: space to listen, soften, and return to self—without o’clock language.
